Liverpool stands firm, the ultimatum to Al Ettifaq by Jordan Henderson

Liverpool gets ready to say goodbye to one of its legends, the captain Jordan Henderson, who received an irresistible offer from the Saudi Pro League some weeks ago. The Liverpool captain would be close to leaving Anfield to face his new challenge at Al Ettifaq, coached by the Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, where Jordan would become the first team’s superstar and a key player in the squad, linking the coach’s decisions with the attitude of the team on the pitch.

Almost all the reports about the Jordan Henderson's potential departure, are explaining that the player has already agreed personal terms with Al Ettifaq, after having received a huge offer which would quadruple what he currently earns at Liverpool, as he would be reaching an impressive  £700,000-per-week salary, which could have been an irresistible reason to decide leaving the club and join Gerrard in the Saudi Pro League.

Given the agreement between Henderson and his potential new club, it remains an agreement between both clubs, which could be the main issue at this moment to seal the transfer. In this sense, and according to the British media, Liverpool would have asked Al Ettifaq for a significant transfer fee, above the £17 million, to seal the deal for Henderson.

In this sense, Liverpool considers Jordan Henderson as a valuable asset to both Liverpool and England, and they would have sent an ultimatum to Al Ettifaq: to reach the price set or be out of the business. The Anfield team thinks that any deal involving Henderson must be beneficial to both parties, so  it would remain to see whether Al Ettifaq will meet Liverpool’s asking price or not, having Liverpool made clear to Gerrard and Al Ettifaq that Henderson’s value is significant and that any deal must reflect this.
