Manchester United got a painful 2-0 defeat against Tottenham in the Red Devils worst game this season, in which it could be seen a disconnected team lacking effectiveness in defense and attack and far from the expectations generated by the new Ten Hag’s project at the team.
After a first half where Manchester United was not able to profit from the chances they created, Tottenham got a great result in the second half by getting benefit from the tactical disorder experienced by the Red Devils, who conceded two goals to the Spurs.
In this sense, after a gap not covered by Luke Shaw in the defense, Tottenham scored the first goal at the 49th minute, with a left footed shot from very close range to the high center of the goal by Pape Sarr. Manchester United based their attempts in individual plays creating occasions that were unexplainably missed by United strikers, and they got a penalty not conceded by the referee after a shot by Garnacho that went to the hand of a Tottenham’s defender.
Manchester United could not react to Tottenham's dominance in the game, and despite the changes made by Erik Ten Hag, the team did not show any improvement with Martial, Sancho, Eriksen and Pellistri on the pitch. At the 83th minute, Tottenham put the second goal to kill off the game for the locals, when Ben Davies scored with a left footed shot assisted by Ivan Perisic. United ended asking for the final whistle and they will need improvement by Ten Hag for the next few games.
