Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag would be focused on setting the squad he would want to develop in the next few years, and the Dutchman would have already made some special requests to the club, such as starting conversations to activate important renewals with essential players for the squad.
According to the journalist Samuel Luckhurst from the Mancunian journal Manchester Evening Standard, the Dutchman would be keen on renewing the contract of two important players from Manchester United’s defense, who have had a great impact on the team during the start of the 2023/2024 season.
The players in question are Aaron Wan Bissaka and Victor Lindelof, who have performed well enough to convince the coach to keep them in the squad. Despite his injury, Wan Bissaka has impressed the coach during the first games he played this season, and Lindelof showed himself as a solid backup in the team’s defense due to his quality and versatility as he has played even as a left back in the last few games.
However, there would also be another player ready to renew who could not have the same luck as his teammates, as he would not have convinced the coach entirely during the start of the season. This would be the case of Anthony Martial, who according to the information given by Samuel Luckhurst, could have an uncertain future at the club, with the coach still reluctant to seal his permanence in the team due his irregularity and long list of injuries, and the Mancunian institution would monitor the player’s performances to make a decision before the season and his contract with the club ends.
