Manchester United’s winger Alejandro Garnacho would be under the spotlight for the FA in the last few hours, as he could have surprisingly broken the regulations of the English football organism in the following hours to the game the Red Devils won against Copenhagen in Old Trafford on the third day of the 2023/2024 Champions League’s group stage.
In this sense, according to the English journalist Samuel Luckhurst from the Mancunian journal Manchester Evening Standard, the Argentine player could face disciplinary action over a social media post in which he used gorilla emojis over a picture of Andre Onana's penalty save against Copenhagen.
Following these sources, the Argentine player deleted the post once advised of the potential racial connotations involved, but the FA would be aware of it and could yet charge him with a breach of guidelines around racially sensitive social media posts in the next few hours, while Ten Hag and the player would have already been alerted of the possible sanction.
According to the information given by Manchester Evening Standard, the potential sanction to be faced by the player would be announced in the next few days in case of the FA finally decides to act over the situation, similar to one already faced by Edinson Cavani, who during his time at Old Trafford incurred in a similar incident receiving a huge fine and underwent a training course, resolution that could be now faced by Garnacho.
