Manchester United's goalkeeper Andre Onana surprised the media and the fans in the last few hours when he strongly defended his teammate Alejandro Garnacho through his personal Instagram account, just a few hours after the Argentine winger was accused of racist comments through his personal social media.
In this sense, it is worth remembering that Alejandro Garnacho was reportedly being investigated by the FA due to potential racial connotations in a story he published on his personal Instagram in which he used gorilla emojis over a picture of Andre Onana's penalty save against Copenhagen few hours after the game of the Red Devils finished.
Following this situation, Andre Onana himself decided to defend and back his teammates through his own personal Instagram account, where he posted a new story where he commented on the controversy surrounding the Argentine winger, writing the caption “People cannot choose what I should be offended by. I know exactly what Garnacho meant: power & strength. This matter should go no further”.
In addition, the Cameroonian goalkeeper also posted a picture of himself hugging Garnacho during the game against Copenhagen, tagging the Argentine winger and adding two emojis of two fists bumping. With this action, Andre Onana could help his teammate to avoid a sanction from FA, who already banned the former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani during his stage at the club for a similar controversy.
