Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola made a great revelation about the best role performed by the Argentine player Julian Alvarez in the team during the club’s press conference ahead of the Citizen’s next game against Chelsea in Stamford Bridge on the twelfth day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season.
The Catalan coach was asked by the media what he thought it could be the best position for Julian Alvarez, who would play very differently in Manchester City and Argentina national team formations, and the coach profited the question to praise and hail the striker before setting a concrete position where he thinks Julian could develop a top potential, analyzing his development and giving some keys on how he can be used to play alongside Haaland or Lionel Messi.
In this sense, Guardiola revealed that Julian could be ideal to play behind the striker, close to the box. “He can play striker, behind, close to the box to help with intense pressing. With us, second striker behind Haaland, but with Argentina further forward ahead of Messi. In central positions he's playing well...", confessed the Catalan coach.
In this respect, it would be worth mentioning that Julian Alvarez is actually completing his best season as a Manchester City player, having already played 17 games for the Citizen, scoring seven goals and giving four assists in all competitions, while he has played 26 with Argentina scoring seven goals too and giving one assist.
