Newcastle United’s manager Eddie Howe received bad news in the last few hours ahead of their next game against AC Milan in St. James’ Park for the sixth day of the 2023/2024 Champions League group stage, as the Rossoneri would have recovered two key offensive players for the clash against the Magpies which will be crucial for their ambitions in the competition.

The players in question are Rafa Leao and Noah Okafor, who according to the AC Milan fans site Milannews, would be available for the Italian manager Stefano Pioli, who could include them even in his lineup to face the Magpies in a really important game to advance to the next phase of the competition.

In this sense, it would be worth remembering that the group F of the Champions League, labeled as the group of death this season, is currently led by Borussia Dortmund with 10 points, who is followed by PSG with 7, while Newcastle and AC Milan have only 5, which forces the Magpies and the Rossoneri to need a win to try to qualify for the next round of the tournament.

Both teams need desperately a win

In this respect, both teams need to get three points and wait for a defeat of PSG against Borussia Dortmund in Germany, which won’t be an easy requirement to be completed, as the French side will try desperately to secure their advance to the next phase against a team who already is classified.
