Manchester United’s center forward Rasmus Hojlund surprised the media and the fans in the last few hours by defending his teammate Marcus Rashford from the critics in an interview given ahead of his next game with the Denmark national team against Kazakhstan in a new day of the EURO 2024 qualifiers.
In this sense, Hojlund has sent a strong message to the critics of the Mancunian player, as he believes that his teammate could get back to his best soon despite having had a poor start of the season with only one goal scored and three assists given in ten games played with United.
This situation, would have made that the player graduated from the Manchester United’s academy looked short on confidence and decision making, being substituted in his last three appearances with the team, which could be soon changed by the Mancunian player according to Hojlund.
The Danish striker has not had any doubt on praising his teammate and giving a message for Marcus Rashford’s critics. “I really like and enjoy playing with him. He is a world-class player," Hojlund said about Rashford. “He's a player I've looked up to, even though he's only a few years older than me. He has done well since he came in as a 19-year-old and scored against Midtjylland. I think he has been a great player ever since, and it is of course great that we are teammates today”, he confessed.
