The Portuguese star can’t believe he’s behind Messi in the list

Manchester United former player Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most popular players in the world not only among the fans who saw him play in his prime with the Red Devils, but also among the fans who saw him in prime years at Real Madrid and in successful stages at Juventus or Al Nassr.

For this reason, the Portuguese superstar would have lately surprised the media and the fans in a top 100 classification created by the football site FourFourTwo, which has compiled a list of the most influential players from the last year, not having included the former Manchester United player in it.

In the list we can find players such as Bruno Fernandes, Gabriel Martinelli, James Maddison, Virgil van Dijk or Son Heung-min, but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo has missed out despite having scored 34 goals and providing another 12 assists in 41 appearances for Al-Nassr since joining the club on a free transfer in January.

Lionel Messi is placed sixth in the list

However, his long-time rival Lionel Messi, who recently won his eighth Ballon d’Or, is still at the top of this list headed by Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Rodri ahead of Messi, placed sixth in the list, while Bernardo Silva, Mohamed Salah, Antoine Griezmann and Vinicius Jr close the Top Ten.
