The controversy between Chelsea and Liverpool continues around how Liverpool’s targets Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia snubbed the Reds to join Chelsea some weeks ago. In the last few hours some new information came up in the English journal The Athletic about how the Ecuadorian player signed for €133 million not only would have snubbed Liverpool, but he would have also played a key role in Lavia’s arrival to Chelsea.

In this sense, The Athletic uncovered how Moises Caicedo would have convinced Romeo Lavia to snub Liverpool’s interest and sign for Chelsea in the last few weeks, since the Ecuadorian player could have had an important conversation with the Belgian 19-year-old player which would have made him join the Blues despite having agreed personal terms with Liverpool.

Following The Athletic sources, Caicedo could have received some Jürgen Klopp’s messages before he joined Chelsea to convince him about the idea of joining Liverpool, which he would have snubbed, telling the German coach that he would join Chelsea. However, Moises Caicedo himself, already a Chelsea player, would have also spoilt Lavia’s signing for Liverpool.

According to the information given in The Athletic, Caicedo himself could have messaged Lavia to convince him to play for Chelsea, which would have made the Belgian player to finally snub Liverpool to surprisingly join the Blues in the following days, while the Reds, once confirmed the loss of Caicedo and Lavia decided to sign Wataru Endo for the team’s midfield.
