The English businessman wouldn’t be optimistic about the process

The British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has recently spoken about the Manchester United’s potential takeover in an interview with INEOS.TV, where he has spoken about the Glazers’ family selling process, opening up on his fears toward the move and a potential failure in his desire of acquiring the club he has supported since he was a child.

In this sense, it is worth remembering that Britain's richest man would have been bidding for the club alongside Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim. The British billionaire had offered the owners Joel and Avram Glazer to temporarily retain a 20 per cent stake in Manchester United, which seemed giving him some advantage in the negotiations, but then everything changed.

Some months ago, Jassim was reported to be in the pole position to acquire the club according to the British media, but the Glazer family would not have taken any decision yet and they would not have reached any agreement, which would have clearly confused Ratcliffe, who now would be expressing his fear of failing on the club’s takeover.

Ratcliffe labeled the process as too public and excruciating

In his interview with INEOS.TV, Ratcliffe open up to explain that he would be afraid of failing in the process and describe the potential failure as far too public and excruciating, comments that could suggest that he remains hopeful of acquiring the club in the next few months despite everything seems to be adverse for him.
