Manchester City’s coach could have new plans for Julian Alvarez this season, since the Catalan coach would have thought about the Argentine player’s role in the team and he definitely could change it according to the information given by the English journal The Daily Mail in the last few hours.
Following these sources, the Kevin De Bruyne’s long term injury could play a key role in the Pep Guardiola’s plans for Julian Alvarez, who at the moment has played 51 games at the club, scoring 17 goals and giving six assists in all competitions with Manchester City since his arrival to the club from River Plate for €20 million in 2022.
According to the Daily Mail, Julian Alvarez could be developed to operate in a deeper role more often, in between a number 8 or a number 10 position, in case Manchester City would not manage to find a right replacement to cover Kevin De Bruyne’s absence in the team for the following four months.
In this sense, Julian Alvarez could return to an old position already developed by the Argentine player in his period in River Plate, where Julian acted as a center striker but also as a right winger, completing 122 games, scoring 54 goals and giving 31 assists with the Argentine club in all competitions, a proof of the Julian’s versatility and conditions to replace Kevin De Bruyne in Manchester City.
