Romelu Lukaku’s future is one of the most exciting soap operas in this summer transfer market window. The Belgian player has been set as a transferable player by his new coach at Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino, and the player has tried to negotiate with several teams, ending up in disappointing Inter, his reported preferable destination to leave London, being now Juventus the only option for the player to stay in Europe, once Inter fans have started to expressed their anger with the 30-year-old player for flirting with their rival.

In this sense, the relationship between Lukaku and Inter has gotten complicated in the last few hours, as nobody among the Nerazzurri expected this betrayal after having played for them last season. It is worth remembering that Lukaku's connection with Inter dates back to 2017, when the Belgian player arrived to the Italian team from Everton, after Inter paid €75 million for his transfer.

Precisely that transfer has come under the spotlight in the last few days, after the Inter fans knew the context around that transaction and a transfer they turned down to sign Lukaku. According to the Italian press, at that time Inter was close to signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus but they finally abandoned the race to sign the Argentine to focused on the Lukaku’s arrival, which ended up with Dybala becoming a great player in the Italian league while Lukaku would be sold to Manchester United two years later.

Chelsea fans can’t believe it

In this sense, Chelsea fans have taken the chance to comment on the situation and make fun of such a great disappointment. The Blues bought Lukaku in 2021 from Manchester United for 100 million and ended up being a flop, while Dybala has ended up being one of the current Chelsea manager’s main targets, which means that paradoxically, in this transfer market window Chelsea could get rid of Lukaku to sign Dybala.
