Chelsea remain in the shadow of their failure and their incredible waste of fortune this past Premier League season. The team now coached by Mauricio Pochettino must make a new start and try to return to the top of the table to get a ticket to Europe's top competitions.

There have been many voices within the Blues' squad about what happened with the issue of new players. It has even been said that they had to remodel the facilities at Stamford Bridge in order to fit in all the elements that could be eligible for the coaches that came through this season.

After the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and the disastrous replacement of Graham Potter, the London side had to finish the last few games with one of their greatest idols in Frank Lampard on the bench, but this was totally counterproductive, as they were left in limbo and were content to see that they were in twelfth place in the English League.

Now, in the aftermath of the collapse, several of the protagonists of this event are starting to talk about what really happened and the players who should not have worn the Chelsea shirt. Including the newly-crowned world champion Enzo Fernandez, for whom an incredible 120 million euros was paid to Benfica.

What did Potter say about Fernandez that caused the controversy?

In an interview with a famous British broadcaster,  called the signing of Enzo Fernandez as 'overrated', and that he did not help the atmosphere in the squad to achieve the goals planned by the board. Despite this, the Argentina international is set to become one of Pochettino's key men for next season and new team-mates are already being sought to better exploit his skills.
