Chelsea and their new coach Mauricio Pochettino get ready for the next Premier league season and some impacting news could enrage the fans and explain many of the latest events at the club. Last season the club spent a huge amount of money in transfers, which didn’t work to lead the team to the top of the league under the management of Graham Potter and Frank Lampard as an interim manager.
The Chelsea legend arrived to coach the club when the situation was dramatical for the squad, not having worked out the arrival of Graham Potter to the institution to create a great style of play and be able to win trophies. However, Frank Lampard wasn’t able to respond to Chelsea's expectations either.
In this sense, Lampard talked recently about his interim stage at the club and he strongly tackled his ex Chelsea players in an interview with Steven Bartlett from The Diary Of A CEO, where Lampard criticized the mentality, the preparation, and the level of his players when he arrived to Chelsea.
The Chelsea legend made some strong confessions about his period at Chelsea, sending a strong message to the Chelsea owner. “When I arrived, I could see that the team spirit and solidarity was not there. You have to prepare for the elite to become the elite. I saw in training that the level was not enough and I quickly noticed that some players were thinking first about the end of the season and what the future would look like for them. I had no magic wand to motivate them”, explained Lampard, visibly angry because of the bad level seen at his former club.
