The Brazilian said no to big money coming from the Premier League

Despite not having qualified for any European competition and not having been able to respond to the fans expectations during this season, Chelsea is one of the clubs that have moved the highest amounts of money in the recent transfer windows. During the winter market the club spent more than €300 millon on signings, having had Neymar Junior in sight as a big name to add to Blues attack, even if it had supposed a very expensive transfer to the club.

The Chelsea’s owner Todd Boehly, accustomed to be involved in difficult negotiations as the owner of the baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers, started to design a proposal and the necessary details to allow the arrival of Neymar to Stamford Bridge; but finally the transfer didn’t occur, as Neymar finished the season playing for PSG.

As it has transpired, Neymar would had earned €15 million per season at Chelsea. With a three-year contract on the horizon, the South American star would have gone on to become the highest paid player on the English team, but the Brazilian player said no to the transfer and surprisingly he decided to stay in Paris to play the Champions League, something which he can do with the French champions but Chelsea could not offer for next season.

What is the Neymar’s future?

In a recent dialogue with the site Band Sports, Neymar rejected the rumors which link him to the Premier League and, despite assuring he is staying at PSG and looking forward to the next season, where he could be coached by Luis Enrique Martinez, his ex coach in FC Barcelona, if the rumors come true. He also commented that the footballer career is very dynamic and everything can change in a few days, even expressing the possibility of returning to play someday in the future for Santos, his former club in Brazil.
