Palmeiras’ striker Endrick surprised the media and the fans in the last few hours by making a shocking revelation when he was asked about his negotiations with Chelsea before sealing his arrival to Real Madrid, the club he will finally join in the next season when he turns 18 according to the FIFA regulations.
The Brazilian 17-year-old, who finally signed for the Spanish team for €37.5 million from Palmeiras, has scored 14 goals in 54 games played for the Brazilian side in all competitions, and has been identified as one of the most promising prospects in Brazilian football during the last few years.
The player, compared to Romario and Ronaldo Nazario due to his great ability to score and create his own chances inside the box, was contacted by Chelsea during the summer, but the negotiations with the Blues weren’t completed and he finally signed for Real Madrid, a circumstance which the player recently explained in an exclusive interview with the Spanish journalist Mario Cortegana from the English football site The Athletic.
In the interview, Endrick explained that he was attracted by the Premier League, the city of London and the fact that English is the economically dominant language in the world, but he would have finally decided to tell his agent his intention to play for Real Madrid and snub the Blues. “I always made it clear to my agent that my dream was Real Madrid”, he explained.
