Manchester City’s midfielder Rodri was the negative news in the Citizen’s clash against Nottingham Forest in the Etihad Stadium on the sixth day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season after being sent off once he received a red card due to pushing Gibbs-White after the English striker incited him yelling the Spanish player in a controversial foul.

It happened at the start of the second half, when the Spanish midfielder went head-to-head with Nottingham Forest player Morgan Gibbs-White, appearing to place both hands round the player’s neck and receiving a straight red card, while the Forest player received a yellow card following the altercation.

Rodri, whose red card was confirmed by the VAR alleging moronic behavior by the referees, could now face an important suspension which could consist of three-ban games with Manchester City due to the behavior he showed against a rival, which would have been captured by the cameras and would be difficult to dismiss.

Rodri could miss important games with Manchester City

In this sense, if the sanction to Rodri is confirmed by the FA, the Spanish player could miss the next three games with Manchester City, and the Citizen will face important games without his midfielder, such as the clashes against Newcastle away, Wolverhampton in the Etihad and Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium.
