Liverpool fans have been strongly surprised by these numbers

Jordan Henderson recently signed for Al Ettifaq from the Saudi Pro League after several weeks of tough negotiations between Liverpool and the Saudi club located in Dammam. The Liverpool’s captain had initially rejected the Al Ettifaq’s first offer, but the insistence of the Saudi team and a huge offer made Henderson to finally accept and complete the deal.

The new coach of the Saudi team, the Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, had requested to sign Henderson as soon as he had arrived at the Saudi club, and Al Ettifaq finally signed the 33-year-old Liverpool player in the last few hours, in exchange of £13 million, having agreed personal terms with Henderson a few days ago.

At Al Ettifaq, the English midfielder will quadruple his current salary at Liverpool (£190,000-per-week), even overcoming Mohamed Salah’s weekly salary, since the Egyptian King currently earns £350,000 a week, and Henderson will earn £700,000. In this sense, Henderson would be also above Haaland’s (£375,000),Van Dijk’s (£220,000) and even above his own coach’s salary, since Gerrard earns 300,000 per week at Al Ettifaq.

Henderson’s salary would be above Messi’s at Inter Miami

However, Henderson would be far from other stars in the Saudi Pro League and abroad. The ex Liverpool captain equalizes Fabinho’s salary at Al Ittihad (also £700,000 a week) but Henderson’s salary is still below Benzema’s  (£3.31 million) , or Cristiano Ronaldo’s (£3.4 million), being also below Messi’s at Inter Miami in MLS (£466,000 a week).
