What the Argentinian star said to his team-mates at the final was a great success.

The whole world was thrilled by the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup last winter. Argentina were crowned champions after beating France on penalties in one of the most emotional duels in the history of this competition and one that continues to thrill those who remember it, but above all its protagonists, who lived their great triumph with passion.

Alexis Mac Allister was one of the lucky ones who was able to be on the pitch alongside Lionel Messi in that great final. Today he is a Liverpool player and it has cost Jurgüen Klopp's side almost 60 million euros to bring him into their squad. A skilful and creative player who had already been observed in Qatar and who the German coach wanted to have for the season that is about to begin.

What we experienced in that great final is beyond description. It looked like the Argentinian side would win comfortably from the first 45 minutes, but a Kylian Mbappé opener levelled things up until extra time, where the real star was Emiliano 'Dibu' Martinez, saving a last-ditch effort from Marcus Thuram, who saved a number of penalties in that round.

The half-time speech seems to have been pretty epic and the new Anfield player has shared it in an interview. You can tell they are still very emotional every time they remember the sacrifice and suffering they had to make in order to beat the best in the world at the time.

What did Messi say to them in the final?

Although he doesn't remember his words perfectly, Alexis Mac Allister shared in an interview to Olé newspaper in Argentina that it was the captain of the South Americans who gave a very emotional talk that made everyone in the dressing room cry, including coach Lionel Scaloni and his assistants who couldn't hold back the tears and left more motivated because they were able to get the coveted trophy that Messi had fought so hard for during almost five World Cups and that had been denied to him in totally cruel and unexpected ways as football in general is.
